I created a weaving on a tapestry loom. Because the very nature of weaving is all about connections and integrating different fibers together, I was thinking a lot about my connections to others, and to what was happening in the world during the Pandemic. During this time period I have felt connected to others but more than usual these connections vary in intensity and may become unraveled. There is the constant tension of safety in terms of our proximity to others versus our need for connection, and the risk of these connections fraying, like fibers in a weaving.
The materials used are jute, various fibers, and branches from my garden in The Hudson Valley.
